THE MASTER’S MESSAGE
Brethren:
I would like to thank you all, my Brothers of Lancaster 104 for the honor and privilege of serving our lodge which I love so much. I’ll simply end my last message as Master with this poem by John W. Hall, PGM 1957.
To live as gently as I can
To be, no matter where, a man
To take what comes of good or ill
To cling to faith and honor still
To do my best, and let that stand
The record of my brain and hand
And then, should failure come to me
Still work and hope for Victory
To have NO secret place within
To stoop, unseen, to shame or sin
To be the same when I’m alone
As when my every deed is known
To live undaunted, unafraid
Of any step that I have made
To be, without pretense or sham
Exactly what men think I am
Fraternally thine,
Johnny Yates

FREEMASONS IN HISTORY
Albert Pike – Sovereign Grand Commander A.&A.S.R.
December 29th marks the birthday of noted Freemason, author, lawyer and Confederate Officer, Albert Pike.
A Freemason should be a man of honor and conscience, preferring his duty to everything else, even his life; independent in his opinions and of good morals; submissive to the laws, devoted to humanity, his country, and his family; kind and indulgent to his brethren, friend of all virtuous men, and ready to assist his fellows by all means in his power.(pg 113 Morals & Dogma) Albert Pike

The ALL-SEEING EYE
In most of the ancient languages of Asia ‘eye’ and ‘sun’ are expressed
by the same word, and the ancient Egyptians hieroglyphically represented their principle deity, the sun-god Osiris, by the figures of an open eye,
emblematic of the sun, by whose light we are enabled to see, and which itself looks down from the midst of heaven and beholds all things.
In like manner Masons have emblematically represented the omniscience of the Great Architect of the Universe.
