soldiers Aid by Masons
On the first, second and fourth Saturday of each month three Masonic Lodges from Boyle and Garrard County will collect items and donations for care packages to our soldiers overseas from Central Kentucky. Each lodge will assemble the individual packages and promptly mail them to the soldiers. This program is not only for Masons but anyone wishing to support our troops in harms way. If you have a name and address of a soldier overseas, you may submit it to any of these lodges so the soldiers can receive care packages.
Each first Saturday of every month items and donations may be dropped off at Franklin Lodge #28 located at 400 North Fourth Street in Danville from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM. For more information call Tom Bustle at (859) 319-7278 or Jim King at (859) 319-0160
Each second Saturday of every month items and donations may be dropped off at Lancaster Masonic Lodge # 104 from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. The lodge is located ½ miles West of US 27 south of Lancaster on HWY 39 ( 436 Crab Orchard Road) next to the radio tower. For more information call John West at (859)792-2878.
Each fourth Saturday of every month items and donations may be dropped off at Harvey Maguire Lodge # 209 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The lodge is located at 575 2nd St, Hwy US 150 in Perryville. For more information call Jim Reynolds at (859)332-2083

HOME-BAKED FOOD
GLASS BOTTLES or GLASS JARS
AEROSOL CANS or SPRAYS
EXPIRED FOOD

LIGHTERS, MATCHES or LIGHTER FLUID

Do NOT, for ANY reason, or in ANY amount, include food items in a care package with ANY hygiene items or chemicals of any type.
If you want to send a care package, make it only food items or only non-food items. You would not believe how even factory sealed cookies taste when they have lived together in the same package with bath soap for a month in 120 degree heat. Also, since so many folks simply won't repack liquid items in vacuum bags (like Foodsaver TM for example), please just use another box. We get requests all the time that folks NOT send soaps, bug repellent, dryer sheets, air fresheners, detergents, deoderants in the same box as food items.
